This is when “separation of church and state” has officially gone too far. .
12-year-old Madison Lindeberry from Newton, Massachusetts learned what it’s like to live in a liberal state Friday after her social studies teacher had a heart attack and died in the middle of a lesson. Madison, whose deep faith in the Almighty comes before all else, rushed immediately to his side, held his hand and began praying.
The school’s principal, John Nelson, arrived in the class after a student rushed to get help and began CPR while waiting for paramedics. He began screaming at Madison to stop that “ridiculous noise” and go back to her seat. Knowing she was doing the right thing, she refused. Paramedics arrived within minutes and determined the man was already gone. They told Nelson to stop what he was doing but allowed the young girl to continue praying as they logged the event.
Madison prayed for her dead teacher for nearly 15 minutes, until the paramedics had to call a time of death and clear the room for the coroner. Nelson, visibly upset, grabbed Madison by the shoulder and trotted her off to the office where he prepared expulsion papers for “repeatedly refusing the order of a teacher in a time of crisis.” In other words, she prayed over a dead man for his salvation and now has to find a different school.
Madison’s parents are seeking legal counsel.
